The 22nd IMSO 2025 Malaysia was held from 5-9 October 2025,
at AlBukhary International University,
in Alor Setar, Kedah - Malaysia.
IMSO 2026 will be held in Indonesia.
The International Math and Science Olympiad (IMSO) is a global competition in Mathematics and Science for students under the age of 13.
It was initiated by the Ministry of National Education, Indonesia in 2003 (which was then called AMSO - ASEAN Mathematics and Science Olympiad) with the aim of developing primary school pupils' talent and interest in Mathematics and Science, and motivating them to develop their intellectual capacity and skills in these subjects.
The most recent edition of the IMSO was held in Wenzhou, China in October 2024. The contest attracted 263 participants from 18 countries. (Botswana, Bulgaria, India, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong and host China.)
