Improve PD is pleased to present a series of workshops designed for school leadership teams to help them implement high quality professional development that will bring about changes within their building. These 5 workshops take place over about 15 months and focus on planning, implementation, follow up, and reflection of good PD.
Session 1 is offered in the Spring as a half day workshop for school leadership teams.
This session focuses on how to identify a problem of practice you wish to address in your school or district.
Leadership teams will seek feedback from their staffs between Session 1 and Session 2.
Session 2 is offered in late Spring as a half day workshop for school leadership teams.
This session takes the problem of practice you've identified with your staff and helps you create a vision to solve it.
Leadership teams will create materials to publicize their upcoming year's vision.
Session 3 is offered in the Summer as a full day workshop.
This session is all about planning out the year. It focuses on making sure that PD is carried through the year, stays on vision, and has follow up inbetween.
Leadership teams will decide PD topics that support their vision and design plans of follow up.
Session 4 is offered in the Winter as a half day workshop.
This session is an opportunity for schools to share what's working well, what schools are struggling with, and finishing out the year strong.
Leadership teams will each share how things are going and be given specific feedback from instructors and the group.
Session 5 is offered at the end of the year as a half day workshop.
This session is where schools will present the impacts of the year's professional development.
Leadership teams will reflect on the year and think about how to continue high quality professional development in the next school year.
