Register to Vote 

The deadline to register is 21 days before Election Day. The voter registration deadline for the upcoming election is October 14, 2025.  Registration cards postmarked by this date or submitted online no later than 11:59 pm are valid.

Many voters are automatically registered when they go to the DMV. Learn more about Oregon’s Motor Voter Act. 

Changing your party affiliation is simple and isn't permanent. You can change back at any time after the election.

You can update your voter registration information, until 8 p.m. on Election Day and still cast a ballot. However, if your registration is updated close to an election, your ballot might have to be issued at the county elections office.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Voters can choose to complete a paper voter registration form​​, and submit it to a county elections office​ to update their information.

Oregon Votes by Mail 

Active registered voters receive an official ballot to complete and return. A ballot can be mailed or dropped off at any official drop box ​across the state. 

Prepare to Vote

Decide whether you will vote early, by mail, or by dropping it off at a ballot drop site. Normally, a ballot will be mailed to the address at which you are registered approximately two weeks before an election. 

Alternate-format ballots are available for the use of (1) qualified military or overseas voters or (2) voters who, due to a disability, need to mark their ballots electronically before printing and mailing. Access Oregon's online ballot-marking tool if you need this service. 

If you will be away from home during an election period, arrange to vote absentee using this form.

Other key November  2025 election dates

• October 15, 2025  First day to mail ballots to voters. 

• October 21, 2025  Last day to mail ballots to voters.

• October 30, 2025  Last day counties required to mail absentee, reissued or replacement ballots. 

• November 4, 2025  Election Day. Last day for voters to return ballots. Ballots that are mailed must be postmarked by election day. Ballots deposited in an official drop box must be received by 8 pm on election day.County Clerk’s office open 7 am - 8 pm. Official dropsites open until 8 pm, and for a minimum of 8 hours.

• November 12, 2025  Last day to receive valid postmarked ballots by mail. 

• November 12, 2025  Last Day to forward ballots.

• November 19, 2025  Information identifying voters with ballots challenged for missing or non-matching signatures available for public inspection.

• November 25, 2025  Last day to resolve ballot challenges.
