The DRP initiative started in 2024 when Ariff Jazlan (now alumnus) decided to see what we could do as a department to support student collaboration outside of standard classroom teaching and tutorials - the project simply wouldn't have got off its feet had it not been for the vision and persistence Ariff had throughout the inception of the DRP (and in fact all department matters when he was our student rep for 2 years!)

We also would not be able to run the DRP without the benevolent support of the department and the Student Leadership Development Programme primarily run by Ahmed Aynan , Olivia Adu-Bofour and Sai Nathan, which aims to help students lead initiatives like the DRP, Colloquium, Women in Maths, Black in Maths & LGBTQIA+ in Maths. Their constant mentorship, guidance and effort to make sure we have exactly what we need is something we couldn't function without
