About Our Teachers

Ms. Davis

Grades K-1

I grew up in Rockdale County in a family of educators. I also married an educator. Together, we went to school to earn our Specialist Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision. I also hold a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Mercer University.

Since 2001 I have been a teacher at Ola Elementary. There, I taught kindergarten and 1st grade, as well as EIP for grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. At Ola, I also served on the School Leadership Team and was a Multi-Tiered Support System Chair.

I love to learn. This fall, I plan on continuing my education through pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Elementary Education. I am so excited for the opportunity I have to teach at Impact Academy as the Kindergarten/1st grade teacher.

Ms. Watts

4th Grade

I am so excited to be your teacher this year!

I have previously taught fourth and sixth grades. I left the teaching profession to homeschool my three children, Journey (11), Easton (10), and Archer (9). I have homeschooled them for eight years. They will be joining me at Impact Academy this year.

My teaching experiences are diverse. In addition to teaching fourth and sixth grades and homeschooling, I have taught ESOL to Chinese students and Latin to homeschoolers. I have a total of 14 years of teaching experience.

I have a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. I am certified in Elementary Education and Middle Grades Math and I am currently working on a Certification in Gifted Education.

I am super excited to be teaching fourth grade again and I look forward to a wonderful year!

Ms. Blalock

5th Grade

It is with great excitement that I introduce myself as Impact Academy Elementary fifth grade teacher. I have a total of 20 years in education. This will be my 13th year teaching in a public school setting. Throughout my career, I have taught grades first through fifth. I completed my undergraduate studies at National Louis University in Elementary Education and earned my MEd in Educational Leadership at Kennesaw State University. As your child’s teacher, my classroom will always be a positive, but challenging learning environment filled with love, and multiple opportunities to be creative and innovative. It is my belief that parental support is the foundation to academic success and I welcome your support. I am the proud wife and mother of four beautiful children. In my free time, I LOVE to travel and relax at the beach. I am truly honored to begin this new journey with you and your child.

FAQs

Will technology be provided for my child?

If a student was a student in grades 3-11 last year, they should already have their Chromebook. For students going in k-2, students will be provided an iPad.

Is there a commitment period for enrolling at Impact Academy?

If a student is enrolled at Impact Academy we require them to stay at least the first semester (Until January 2012)

How is the choice to attend Impact Academy different than a choice to continue remote learning?

Impact Academy is a blended learning program that has been available to high school and middle school families for 8 year. Student attend school face-to-face part of the week and do school from home part of the week. During the COVID-19 healthcare crisis, Henry County Schools is providing an option for a student to be fully virtual. Remote Learning is a temporary option to respond to concerns surrounding the COVID_19 crisis while Impact Academy is a permanent solution that will be around after we exit this healthcare crisis.

Does Impact Academy serve gifted students and students with an IEP or 504?

Yes, all our elementary teachers will serve gifted students and we have dedicated staff to serve students with an IEP. Students who have accommodations through a 504 are also served.

Is there a possibility that Impact Academy Elementary school could fill up?

We anticipate that we will be creating a wait list for enrollment at Impact Academy elementary. If a student is on a wait list, we monitor our enrolled students. If for some reason a student moves or is exited from the program we will go to the wait list and notify the family that there is availability.
