Getting started with the 360º camera
Ricoh Theta V is a 360º camera that takes video and photos. You can use it alone or with your smartphone to see live previews, uploads and for remote capturing. It has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and USB connectivity.
To get started with the camera requires a few steps, starting downloading the RICOH Theta V application on your smart phone.
Downloading and connecting the RICOH Theta App to the camera
Download the RICOH THETA APP from your Android or iOS devices.
Using the following 4 steps to connect the camera to the RICOH Theta App.
Press Power to turn the camera on. Then press on the Wifi button to connect the camera to the phone via a wireless LAN.
2. Open the App on your phone and select Shooting. Then select Other models.
3. Register the camera by selecting Enter with keyboard, then enter the Serial No. found at the bottom of the camera.
4. Confirm the Photos and Location settings.
Once connected, you then have the option of capturing a photo with the camera alone or using the app, along with the camera and a tripod to shoot remotely.
Activity 1: Take Three 360° Photos
Press Power to turn the camera on.
2. Check that the photo icon is showing. If not, press Mode on the side of the camera.
3. Press the round button on the front of the camera to take a picture.
Capturing specifications:
Take at least 3 photos using the Theta V camera.
Select any location.
You have 25 minutes for this activity.
Be careful, and be respectful to those around.
Downloading the images
Images saved in the internal memory of the camera can be transferred to the computer.
Connect the camera to the computer using the provided USB cable.
Once connected, access the image files by clicking on file manager (on the bottom left of the screen) / For a Mac - use the “Photos” app.
Click through the folders until you see the photos.
Create a new folder on the desktop and move the files into this folder.
Remove the USB cable after the transfer is completed.
