DHCS has been a strong partner in addressing the needs outlined in this early wins document.
Within days of receipt of the document, DHCS made LMs CPSP providers and removed the requirement for physician supervision from the PAVE portal
Team CA is in ongoing conversion with DHCS to develop plan for achieving other recommendations

Midwifery Payment Model
a recommended payment model for use by DHCS and managed care organizations that ensures midwifery services are available to people on Medi-Cal. This bundled payment model is specific to community midwifery care, reflects cost-based reimbursement, simplifies billing for small community practices, and times payments to coincide with care given.
Best Practices in Contracting and Reimbursement
A document outlining the best practices needed to ensure midwives are able to contract and be adequately reimbursed by managed care organizations.
