CREATIVE WRITING FROM LINGNAN UNIVERSITY
In Collier Nogues’s series of poetry workshops, students explored poetry writing from beginning to end, focusing especially on how to use games and language play to inspire and enliven their writing, and how to revise and prepare their poems for publication. Students were welcome to register for one, two, or more workshops. Each workshop stood on its own, but taken together they amounted to a thorough introductory or refresher course in poetry writing.

In Jennifer Wong’s series of prose writing workshops, participants learned how to create memorable short stories or life writing and to find their own creative voice. Through reading a diverse range of short stories and memoirs, and creative writing exercises using varied prompts ranging from films, photographs, archives or objects, participants gained confidence in creative writing and learned to develop new work. They learned about the different techniques involved in planning and editing a story from beginning to finish. Writers of all levels were welcome.
