About the Judges

Xu Xi

Xu Xi is the author of five novels, a memoir, and eight collections of stories and essays. Her latest titles include This Fish is Fowl: Essays of Being (Nebraska American Lives Series 2019), Insignificance: Hong Kong Stories (Signal 8 2018), a memoir Dear Hong Kong: An Elegy for a City (Penguin 2017) and the novel That Man in Our Lives (C&R 2016). She is co-founder of Authors at Large and established the Mongrel Writers Residence. An Indonesian-Chinese-American diehard transnational, she splits her life, unevenly, between the state of New York and the rest of the world.


Natalie Linh Bolderston

Natalie Linh Bolderston is a Vietnamese-Chinese-British poet. In 2019, she was a runner-up in the BBC Proms Poetry Competition and came third in the National Poetry Competition. In 2020, she received an Eric Gregory Award and co-won the Rebecca Swift Women Poets' Prize. She is an alumna of the Roundhouse Poetry Collective and the 2020–21 London Library Emerging Writers Programme. Her pamphlet, The Protection of Ghosts, is published with V. Press.
