Week Two
This week we'll dip, wade, swim or dive into Chapters 4 and 5.
There's lots here to keep you afloat! Build your own life-raft to craft your understanding as we make a meme, Tweet to Two, create a summary, or play a game.
Begin by reading, skimming, scanning or diving deep into these two chapters.
Followup with a visit to the Dive Into UDL website Part 2 to build connections and learn more.
- DIP IN
- Make a meme about an idea or topic from the reading that you found interesting. Use any drawing tool OR use one of the online meme generators, such as Imgflip or Kapwing. Haven't made a meme before? Watch the video below to see how it can be done in Google Draw.
- Choose an insightful quote from Chapters 4 and 5 and express it visually using Quozio or Pablo.
- WADE IN - share TWO TWEETS TO TWO PEEPS using the #UDLPeeps, #ILNBookStudy19, and #DiveIntoUDL hashtags. Take time to check the Twitter list [ILN BOOK STUDY 2019] created for this book study. You'll find others who are reading along with you. This is a chance to play catch in the pool.
- SWIM IN -
- Post a link to a five slide photo story that captures some of your thoughts from this week's readings. You can use Google Slides, PowerPoint or online tools such as Buncee or Adobe Spark. Post the link to Twitter and/or Facebook.
- Create a comic related to concepts from this week's chapters using comic creator tools such as Pixton or MakeBeliefsComix. Share it via Twitter and/or Facebook.
- DIVE IN - This game derives from the childhood game of Marco Polo that you may have played in the pool or at the beach [find out about this game in Wikipedia]. This is the Twitter version of Marco Polo, dreamed up by Twitter maven, Helen DeWaard. You start by sending out a Tweet with MARCO in the message, include #ILNBookStudy19, a brief UDL statement, and tag ONE person on the ILNBookStudy Twitter list. They have to tweet back to you, including the word POLO in the message, but you can also tag another player into the Tweet. This can go on until you no longer have room in the response to add any new names, messages or tags. Then it ends ... and a new Tweet stream can begin.
Here's some examples, but there are not set rules, since we're making it up as we go!
