Week 1

This week we'll read Chapter 1 and 2.

As you read, consider how this applies to your own teaching and/or learning contexts. What resonates or catches your attention. What connections are you making?

REFLECT on how you can increase student motivation and autonomy in online learning spaces (where and how this fits into your context).

  • Make jot notes in the group note-taking space to share insights and connections.
  • Plan out a schedule for the book study (see page 121 in UDL in the CLOUD!). Use a chart or some other form of representation to manage your time for this book study work. Consider sharing this plan with others in this book study. How will you adjust your work/life schedule to make time for this book study over the next 4 weeks.

Some of the activities planned for this book study include

    • reading - some or all of the chapters scheduled for the week
    • recording a response or reflection in ONE or more of the suggested formats
        • Shared Google Doc; Voicethread; Answer Garden; Flipgrig; Twitter; Video chat; Infographic; blog; video; Thinglink, etc.
    • reading or viewing responses from others, commenting or sharing connections to others
    • extending your learning by examining additional, related documents, sites and resources
  • Add a comment (text, voice or video) to the Voicethread set up for this week. (You will need to link to the Voicethread location and access the document there. You do not need to sign in or sign up when you get there.)
