First Floor Renovations
Our plan to enhance and restore the Chapter House is built around a fundamental tenet: Make it a Home to set Delta Upsilon Apart.
Features of the first floor renovation include
Recreate the original wooden staircase and grand entryway
Refurbish the first floor and dining room, replacing the old, decorative, coffered ceiling and reinstalling the wooden dining
Restore to classic form the living room, piano room, and alcove with refurbishment of the magnificent fireplace and cabinetry
Upgrade the kitchen and replace all existing equipment

The second and third floor renovations will involve a gut remodel and modernization of all rooms.

Install HVAC System to provide climate control throughout house
New furnishings
Upgraded lighting, ceiling fans and electrical to meet modern demands
Install High-Speed WiFi throughout
Attic Room Expansion
Attic Room Expansion
A key element of the renovation will be the expansion of living quarters to the attic. The attic will feature suites designed to encourage upperclassmen to stay in the house during their junior/senior years. This is also an expansion of the chapter's ability to raise revenue, contributing ROI to this renovation project and revenue streams for the future. Rooms will feature:

Basement Renovations
Basement Renovations
The basement has always been a center of brotherhood activities. Thru this renovation, the campaign seeks to expand and improve this valuable space.
Underpin existing footings and increase ceiling height from 7'6" to 10'
Open up activity spaces
Replace existing B1.5 with two new bathrooms
Install new, expanded laundry room
Removal of all low-hanging mechanical piping
Replace all window wells
Exterior Scope
Exterior Scope
The front patio becomes a center of activity when the weather is nice, and the whole exterior of the house is of course a beautiful introduction to the the Illinois DU Chapter. Renovations focus on restoring and maintaining that beauty plus fortifying its role of keeping the weather out.
Rebuild the front porch to original condition, enhancing the location of some of our fondest memories at Delta Upsilon.
