Welcome to iliNotes, a note-taking application developed by iliApps ("we", "our", or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the iliNotes mobile application.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about how your data is handled.

By using iliNotes, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

• We act as a Data Fiduciary under the India Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act 2023).

• We act as a Data Controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for users in the European Economic Area.

To provide the functionality of iliNotes, we may collect the following categories of data.

A. Personal Information

When you sign in using Google authentication, we may collect:

• Name

• Email address

• Profile picture

Purpose

This information is used for:

• Account authentication

• Account creation

• Managing subscriptions (if applicable)

• Sync and backup services

We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate the application.

B. User-Generated Content

iliNotes processes the information you create inside the application, including:

• Text notes

• Notebook titles

• Tags

• Images added to notes

• Documents scanned using the scanner feature

• OCR extracted text

Storage

By default:

• Your notes are stored locally on your device.

If Cloud Backup is enabled:

• Data may be synced to your personal Google Drive account.

We do not access or review your notes unless you explicitly activate an AI feature that requires processing.

C. Device & Technical Data

Limited technical information may be collected to maintain performance and reliability.

This may include:

• Device model

• Android OS version

• App version

• Device identifiers

• Crash logs

• Performance diagnostics

Purpose

This information helps us:

• Detect and fix bugs

• Improve app stability

• Ensure compatibility across Android devices

Diagnostics may be processed using Google Firebase services.

3. PERMISSIONS

iliNotes requests permissions only when necessary for specific features.

CAMERA

Used for:

• Document scanning

• OCR text extraction

Images are processed for note creation and are stored only if you save them in a note.

STORAGE / MEDIA ACCESS

Used for:

• Importing images into notes

• Exporting notes as PDF or JSON

• Saving scanned documents

BIOMETRIC AUTHENTICATION

Used only for the optional App Lock feature.

Important:

• We do not collect or store biometric data.

• Authentication is handled entirely by the Android operating system.

4. AI PROCESSING

iliNotes provides AI-powered features such as:

• Text summarization

• Text rewriting

• OCR text extraction

• AI writing assistance

AI Service Providers

We may use trusted providers such as:

• Google Vertex AI

• OpenAI APIs

• Other secure AI providers

Data Transmission

When you activate an AI feature:

• Only the selected text or image is sent to the AI service.

• Data is transmitted through secure encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections.

Data Usage

AI requests are processed temporarily by the AI service provider in order to generate a response.

The iliNotes application does not store your AI prompts or AI responses after processing unless you choose to save the generated content in your notes.

AI Output Disclaimer

AI-generated results may not always be fully accurate. Users should review generated content before relying on it.

5. SECURITY

We implement several security measures to protect user information.

Encryption in Transit

All communications between the application and external services are protected using:

HTTPS / TLS encryption

Cloud Security

If cloud backup is enabled, data stored through external cloud services (such as Google Drive) may be protected using the security and encryption mechanisms provided by those services.

Local Device Security

Users may enable additional security features such as:

• Biometric App Lock

• Device screen lock

6. DATA RETENTION

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to provide the service.

Account Data

Stored while your account remains active.

Notes and Content

Stored:

• On your device

• Or within your Google Drive if cloud backup is enabled

Diagnostics

Crash logs and diagnostic data are stored temporarily to help improve the application.

Account Deletion

Users can permanently delete their account.

In-App Deletion

Settings → Sync & Backup → Delete Account

External Deletion Request

7. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

iliNotes integrates with trusted third-party services including:

• Google Firebase (analytics and authentication)

• Google Sign-In

• Google Drive API (cloud sync)

• AI service providers

These services operate under their own privacy policies.

8. ADVERTISING DISCLOSURE

iliNotes is currently ad-free.

We do not share your note content with advertisers.

If advertising is introduced in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

Certain features may stop functioning after consent is withdrawn.
