Regional Energy Excellence Hub (REEH)

TVETMARA Bintulu is transforming towards becoming a Regional Energy Excellence Hub (REEH) by 2035. This strategic initiative aims to develop highly skilled, competent and industry-ready talent for Sarawak’s growing energy sector.

REEH brings together three important areas: talent development, competency certification and industry solutions. Through close collaboration with industry partners, TVETMARA Bintulu provides education, technical training, professional competency programmes, industrial experience and employment pathways that respond to actual workforce requirements.

The initiative builds upon TVETMARA Bintulu’s established strengths in oil and gas, LNG, petrochemicals, mechanical engineering, electrical technology, welding, instrumentation and plant operations. These capabilities will progressively expand into renewable energy, energy efficiency, hydrogen technology, electric mobility, smart-grid technology, bioenergy and carbon capture.

REEH also promotes teaching factories, applied research, technical consultancy, innovation and technopreneurship. Students and instructors will gain exposure to real industrial projects, modern technology and current professional practices.

Through REEH, TVETMARA Bintulu aspires to produce future-ready graduates and a highly competent workforce capable of contributing to Sarawak, Malaysia and the wider ASEAN energy industry.
