The student team consists of about fifteen students from different academic programs varying from second year to fifth year B.Tech/ Dual Degree, M.S and PhD. ensuring continuity of the project.

There have been over 300 students across various disciplines who have been a part of Project IITMSAT over the last couple of years. 

The  student team is mentored by an equally inter-disciplinary panel of faculty coordinators. 

The team is inter-disciplinary, with students from various departments such as the Department of Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering,  Engineering Design, Engineering Physics and Mechanical Engineering.  It is divided into several technical sub-teams, one for each subsystem of the satellite and a system engineering team that shall integrate all subsystems.
