In Year 11 Health and Movement Science, students explore three key topics. "Health for Individuals and Communities" examines the factors affecting well-being and the role of public health initiatives. "The Body and Mind in Motion" focuses on the benefits of physical activity for mental and physical health, studying biomechanics and sports psychology. "Collaborative Investigation" emphasizes teamwork and research skills, encouraging students to address health challenges through group projects. These topics collectively promote an understanding of holistic health, the importance of regular physical activity, and the value of collaborative efforts in improving community health.
In Year 12 Health and Movement Science, students explore "Health in an Australian and Global Context," examining health challenges, policies, and solutions at both national and international levels. "Training for Improved Performance" focuses on optimizing physical fitness and performance through effective training principles, techniques, and recovery strategies. "Depth Studies" allows students to conduct in-depth research on specific health and movement science topics, fostering critical thinking and analytical skills. These topics collectively aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of health issues, performance enhancement, and the importance of research in advancing health and movement science knowledge.
Through the study of the Health and Movement course, students learn to develop:
