The 158th Battalion offers Cadets the opportunity to pursue both academic and leadership excellence within the California Cadet Corps.
The leadership positions are divided into different sub-branches, with their own unique duties.

As Per Cadet Regulation CR 3-22:
Cadets within the S1 role are administrative vessels between their respective CACC unit, and the CACC headquarters.
Cadets within the S2 role are responsible for cadet protection, monitoring any risk management for events, and safety.
Cadets within the S3 role are managers of field plans, moderation of the unit, and assure proper execution of the CACC mission.
Cadets within the S4 role are attentive individuals, assuring cadets have utilities at hand, and distributing them accordingly.
Cadets within the S5 role are the open hand of the unit, assuring sufficient outreach from the community and abroad.
Cadets within the S6 role are signally driven to assure proper technical communication is performed properly during events.
