Visa Information for Foreign Visitors to Indonesia

Indonesia welcomes millions of international travelers each year. Entry into Indonesia is subject to immigration regulations that vary according to nationality. 

As you prepare to attend the 2nd International Horticulture Symposium (IHS 2026) in Lombok, please ensure that your travel documents and visa arrangements are completed in advance. Indonesia provides several entry options—Visa-Free Entry, Visa on Arrival (VoA), and Visit Visa (B211A)—depending on your nationality and purpose of visit. 

To avoid delays, we strongly encourage participants to review the latest requirements and apply through the official immigration portal: Direktorat Jenderal Imigrasi.

Visa-Free Entry

• Citizens of certain countries can enter Indonesia without a visa for short visits (up to 30 days).

• This is valid for tourism, family visits, and some business purposes.

• Free entry to: Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Cambodia, Singapore, Myanmar, Laos, Timor Leste, Suriname, Colombia, Hong Kong, Türkiye, Brazil, Peru, Kazakhstan, Macau, Belarus, Foreign nationals who are Singapore Permanent Residents passing through specific Immigration Checkpoints.

Visa on Arrival (VoA)

• Available to travelers from many countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Japan, Qatar, United Arab Emirates and United Stated. 

• List of Countries, Governments of Special Administrative Regions of a Country, and Certain Entities are available in WNA – Direktorat Jenderal Imigrasi 

• Valid for 30 days and can be extended once for another 30 days.

• Commonly used for tourism and short business trips.

• Fee: approximately IDR 500,000 (subject to change).

How to apply for VoA?

There are three mechanisms: 

1. Pre-Arrival Application and Payment or,

2. Pre-Arrival Application and Payment on Arrival or,

3. Application and Payment on Arrival

Pre-Arrival Application and Payment

Foreigners from countries subject to visa on arrival must complete the following steps:

1. ·Apply through https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id/

2. ·Fill out the form and upload required digital document files,  including:

   • • Passport biodata page that is still valid for at least 6 months at the date of applying

     • Rrecent color photograph.

     • Return tickets or onward tickets to other countries, except for crew members who will stop to join their ship and continue their journey to another country

3. Pay using digital payment methods via debit/credit cards

4. check the  evisa account and email, because the system will send the electronic visa on arrival (e-VoA) within 1x24 hours

Pre-Arrival Application and Payment on Arrival

Foreigners from countries subject to visa on arrival must complete the following steps:

1. Apply through https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id/

2. Fill out the form and upload required digital document files, including:

   • Passport biodata page that is still valid for at least 6 months at the date of applying

   • Recent color photograph.

   • Return tickets or onward tickets to other countries, except for crew members who will stop to join their ship and continue their journey to another country

3. Pay using a digital payment method via SIMPONI (pay in Indonesian national banks with billing code)/debit/credit card

4. Obtain their electronic visa on arrival at the visa counter

Application and Payment on Arrival

To apply for a visa on arrival at an Indonesian international airport/seaport/land border, foreigners from countries subject to visa on arrival:

1. Must first make payment for a non-electronic visa on arrival at a designated bank counter in the immigration inspection area of ​​the airport/seaport by showing a passport that is still valid for at least 6 months at the date you are applying

2. ·Obtain a visa voucher printed on security paper as proof of payment for Visa on Arrival

3. Show the visa voucher to the immigration officer at the Visa on Arrival counter

4. Obtain a Visa on Arrival sticker that is attached to the passport and an electronic entry mark.

Visit Visa (Single or Multiple Entry)

• Required for longer stays or specific purposes (workshops, research, social visits).

• Validity ranges from 60 days up to 1 year, depending on type.

• Must be applied for in advance through Indonesian embassies or online e-visa systems.

Important Notes

• Passport must be valid for at least 6 months upon entry.

• Proof of onward or return ticket may be required.

• Regulations can change, so always check the official Indonesian immigration website or your nearest embassy before traveling.
