COVID-19 Support

Check out these resources and actions to both give and receive support during the coronavirus pandemic.

Care and Share: UW Medicine launched the Care and Share network, where employees can connect with people offering and seeking support (child care, carpooling, pet care, etc.).

Puget Sound COVID-19 Mutual Aid Fund: This fund is a collective fundraising effort to support the most vulnerable people in our community impacted by the pandemic. During this time of uncertainty and fear, many workers and others in our community are in highly precarious positions. This fund is an opportunity to stand with our fellow workers to offer material assistance and to support organizing efforts for worker rights and safety. We encourage members to donate what you can (suggested amount: $9.25 or more!), and record your donation here so we can tally our union’s contributions.

Let SEIU 925 know how UW is handling COVID-19! SEIU 925 has filed a Demand To Bargain (DTB) in conjunction with the other unions that represent UW employees. This basically means that UW has to bargain over all health and safety issues related to COVID-19. This is especially important for employees who do not have positions that can be done remotely! It would be very helpful for SEIU 925 to hear from IHME folks as to what we think is missing from the UW’s response so far. If you are happy with their response, that is great - let SEIU 925 know! Are there more steps the UW should be taking? Please share your feedback here!

Tell UW to postpone layoffs during COVID-19! SEIU 925 is sending a letter to UW President Ana Mari Cauce urging UW to guarantee continued employment and wages for all UW Staff, including professional staff, classified staff, academic staff, faculty and student employees. Sign your name to the letter here!
