Make sure classes meet graduation requirements

You’ll connect with a college advisor who will:
Help you choose specific classes
Walk you through enrollment
Explain timelines and expectations

Once you’ve met with the college, you’ll register for your classes through them.
You’ll complete:
Course Direct From College Form (IHLA Form)
One form for every class taking
Advanced Opportunities (AO) participation form (if using funding)
Needs to be filled out yearly is using Advanced Opportunity Funds
This ensures your credits are tracked correctly and funds distributed correctly.
During the semester:
Stay in communication
Keep up with coursework
Reach out if you need help
We’re here to support you the whole way.
Once you’ve gone through the process one time:
You will not need to meet with Counselor every time, unless you need to make updates to your plan
You’ll already know the system
Future enrollment is faster and smoother
It depends on your goals. Your counselor will help you review classes that fit your graduation plan and future goals. The college advisor can give more in depth information.
Many students begin in 10th or 11th grade, but it depends on readiness and planning. We have had some students take classes as early as 9th grade. Some Universities require student to be 16 years old before taking classes.
Yes—many can count toward graduation requirements. We’ll help advise you on classes that actually work for you in high school and college.
Idaho Advanced Opportunities funding may cover costs. Our Advanced Opportunity Advisor can walk you through it.
