Our chapter leadership team runs the annual Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Case Competition.
Multidisciplinary teams of 3-5 students are challenged thoughtful proposals to address key problems in health delivery and care management, and they compete for a prize pool of $9,000. Students can also meet and engage with some of the nation’s top healthcare and quality improvement leaders.
We recruit medical and health professions students to pair with teams of undergraduate engineering students at Georgia Tech in their Biomedical Engineering senior design course. These students are tasked with addressing clinical challenges by creating a medical device over the course of a semester. Projects are presented at the GT Capstone Expo each semester.
Our education team focuses on teaching students the principles of quality improvement by having local and national healthcare leaders talk to students.
Some previous speakers include the following:
Jeff Myers, Former President of Medicaid Health Plans of America
Nate Gross, Founder and CEO of Doximity
We help our members partake in real quality improvement projects run by faculty at Emory, Grady, CHOA, and the VA.
