Sustainability Committee Survey

This past school year, there has been a group of faculty and staff that have been working on starting a recycling program on campus. Together with administration and facilities, we are moving forward with the application for a $50,000 Dakota County Business Recycling grant. From this project sprouted many other possible initiatives that Inver Hills could work toward in improving the environmental health, social well being and economic prosperity of IHCC. With those ideas in mind, the team has formulated a formal charter in hopes to have a formal committee fall semester of 2020. We are seeking student representatives. Please indicate your interest in the survey below.

We are asking your feedback in what we should focus on first!

Bee Campus USA

Last November, IHCC became the first campus in Minnesota to become a certified Bee Campus USA institution!

What the Bees Knees Committee has been up to:

  • meet every month to discuss fulfilling our obligations for our certification

  • developed critical partnerships with campus and community organizations including MN Board of Soil and Water and University of Minnesota

  • Ordered native wildflower seeds and perennials to be planted throughout this year.

RECYCLING RIGHT

My colleague, Ally Sutherland who serves as the sustainability coordinator at the City of Inver Grove Heights, has put together resources for recycling in Dakota and surrounding counties.

Visit your County’s link below to find recycling and disposal guides, tips for reducing your waste, how-to guides on home composting, recycling collection events and more!
