No more pegs, spray marks, 2D drawings to rely on. Terrain models provide a 3D view of the existing/design terrain. This enables everyone involved to communicate the task at hand more efficiently. 'A picture paints a thousand words'. Terrain models use points which have a position in (x,y) and a height (z). Software analyses these points, and using clever coding, triangle surfaces are created. These smaller triangle surfaces from the terrain model surface.
Once a model is created, analysis of the model can be done. Slope, height colour gradients can be added (the video, right, shows green is higher than the red). Volume and area calculations can be performed too. Changes to the model (shape and levels) can be performed quickly if needed.
Our partners and we use geotechnical surveys to understand the soil/material types on-site, so parameters such as layer thickness, terrain shape, suggested machine movements can be adjusted. Our GIS optimisation software will take the existing site terrain model and combined it with this information. A tailored terrain model is outputted. If you dislike the suggested model, you can make manual adjustments to suit your needs.
(See technical information page for more)
Provide us with a list of plants used on the job. Or we can come to the site. No matter which machine you use. We work closely with machine manufacturers to receive specifications of their machines. Rest assured, the model outputted will optimise your machine's performance.
We work closely with our partners to ensure our models are compatible with their machine control systems: Leica, Topcon, Trimble, Cat etc.
We create a Universal Terrain Model File (.UTMF)
Plug the file straight into your machine control system's software. Then send it to your machine and work can start.
A software module which provides stats about material volumes, cost, time to complete, emissions etc.
Provided before work starts, so you can optimise the model to your needs.
Diagnostic/ tracking data collection will help improve future terrain modelling on your site.
