The iFormat everyone knows and loves can do a lot. All over the place. If you can't do it without iFormat, have a hmmm and check it's a good idea.
Should that simple caption now contain 3 paragraphs of text , 5 bullet points and a table - probably not..
Utterly fed up with having to recreate every link from your word doc? Me too.
iFormat 1.0.4 brings you a paste option that works! Simply right click and choose iFormat -> Paste (right at the top) to preserve that link goodness.
Use the edit link to check that it opens in a new window - you can set this a default in Word and this will be copied across also.
Use this for text where you have links you don't want to have to recreate , otherwise just use ctrl-v.
This update may require you to accept the new permission of reading your clipboard. If you see an error by your extensions click this and then accept permissions.
To use this paste, right click when editing to bring up the context menu. Then select paste. Note it is only intended to paste text, with links.
Example of pasted text with links. No more re-creating every link.
Links will preserve the Word setting to open in a new page or not.
The default can be set in Word by editing the hyperlink there.
Best to check though.
You can now add your own custom 'Quick Text' which will appear in the context menu under the standard copyright quick texts.
Add your custom quick text to the text by clicking the extension icon and clicking save.
These items will now appear in your context menu when in an editable area. Simply click to insert the quick text

Adding rows and columns
The iQuailfy add row / columns may have issues with tables with merged cells.
Use the add rows bottom Row / End Column feature of iEnhance instead.
Note: iEnhance will always add and deletes the bottom rows and right most columns of the table.
These options allow you to insert heading text H1-H4 into your table.
These options allow you to add lists into a table cell.
Note: One a list has been created use the indent / outdent menu from the standard list toolbar.
Add rows and columns and then merge down.
Design your table first before entering data.
If a row looks squished just add some spaces or text and it will pop up fine.
iFormat->Tables->Cell
These new options allow a developer to fix tables that have got mangled on paste from Word.
When a table with merged cells is pasted into Build from word the resulting table will have issues as columns and rows that spanned will now all be the same size.
Using the ColSpan (Horizontal) and RowSpan (Vertical) builders can now fix these cells by adjusting the Columns or Rows it should span.
Note this is a cell by cell process for the moment.
Give it a go today!
Please see the separate page Fixing Mangled Tables for more detailed instructions.
