It was two day event, on the first day there were two rounds and on second day semi-final and finals were organised. Questions were covered from all the domains including movies, sports, music, science and technology. Total 16 students with 8 teams participated in this event. This event was made successful only with the active participation of our IETE members and organising committee. The “Straw Hats” win this quiz competition and were awarded with famous novels and certificates by our beloved HOD of IT, Dr. Motushi Singh. While distributing certificates Prof. Dr. Motushi Singh, HOD of IT and Prof. Subhabrata Sengupta have enlightened and appreciated our students.

Department of IT, CSE (IoT), CSE (IoTCSBT) and IEM-IETE Students' Forum jointly organized a 5 Day workshop on "Remastering C Language”. This even was specially designed for Lateral non-CSE background students. The students have really enjoyed the hands-on programming experience during this workshop. Dr. Moutushi Singh, HoD- IT, CSE (IoT), CSE (IoTCSBT) given a very motivational closing message of this event. Dr. Avipsita Chatterjee given vote of thanks.
CAREER GUIDANCE PODCAST
IEM E Cell along with Department of IT and CSE (IOT CSBT) organized Alumni Talk on Career Guidance on Saturday (5th March, 2022) from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM on virtual mode.
Spandan Ghosh, an alumnus of IEM, talked about his journey and gave insights on building career. He is currently working as an engineer at Qualcomm and was a former systems engineer at TCS. He has also been a research intern at IIT KGP and IIT Roorkee.
The session was a highly interactive session where Spandan enlightened the students regarding various issues related to his experiences in Qualcomm and the skills set that they students need to develop for greater employability.
Dr. Moutushi Singh was the chair of the session and the session was conducted by Prof. Avijit Bose.
Around one hundred participants from second year, third year attended this session.
CRACKING CAT and FUTURE
Department of IT along with Department of CSE IotCSBT organized an alumni talk on ‘Cracking CAT and Future’ on February 11, 2022 from 10.45 AM to 11.45 AM. The talk was delivered by Mr. Dhruv Mohta. Dhruv Mohta, is an esteemed alumnus of Department of Information Technology. He discussed about different strategies related to CAT preparation and many insights of XLRI Jamshedpur. He scored more than 99 percentile marks in the year of 2020. Dhruv also got multiple job offers in different MNCs. The session was a highly interactive one.
148 students participated in this discussion.

CAREER GUIDANCE PODCAST
Department of IT and CSE (IOT CSBT) organized one Career Guidance Podcast from Kolkata to Paris on Sunday (6th March, 2022) from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Abhishek Goswami, alumni of IEM (2015 Batch), completed his Master's in Computer Science from Saarland University, Germany. He received the Marie Curie Fellowship from European Union for his PhD at CNRS (France) and DxO Labs (Paris). He has collaborated with the prestigious University of Cambridge and University of Nantes. His Doctoral research is on Computational Photography and High Dynamic Range Imaging for digital cameras.
The session was a highly interactive session where Abhishek enlightened the students regarding various issues related to his research area and discussed various aspects of pursuing higher studies in the fields of computer science and information technology.
Dr. Moutushi Singh was the chair of the session and the session was conducted by Prof. Shubhabrata Sengupta.
Sixty four participants from second year, third year attended this session.
IMPACT of DATA SCIENCE on INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Department of IT along with Department of CSE IotCSBT organized an interactive session on ‘Impact of Data Science on Information Technology’ on February 21, 2022 from 7PM to 8PM. The talk was delivered by Mr. Rahul Saha. Mr. Saha is an Associate Consultant, Senior Scientist, AI IOT in Tata Consultancy Services. The session was a highly interactive one. Students addressed several questions to the speaker and Mr. Saha clarified them.
118 students participated in this discussion.

INTERACTIVE SESSIONS on AUGMENTED REALITY VIRTUAL REALITY
Augmented Reality Virtual Reality in gaming tech has emerged as an intangible resource for innovative minds in the past few years. Department of Information Technology in association with Entrepreneurship Cell of Institute of Engineering and Management organized an interactive session with Mr. Arijit Bhattacharya on 9th February, 2022 from 3 PM onwards in online mode.
Mr. Arijit Bhattacharya, is a Serial Entrepreneur (Since 1998), Technologist, Angel Investor, Public Speaker (Since 2008), Business Matchmaking Expert, Government Advisor, Artist, Author, Community Builder (Since 2010), Game Programmer (Since 1998 from legacy to latest game engines), Virtual Reality Specialist (Since 2006 with VRML to C# using game engines), AI Evangelist (Since 2002), Blockchain Specialist (Since 2018 mainly in fintech, crypto and health tech) & Globe Trotter (Over 90+ countries business network).
He has two decades of experience in Finance & Technology. Arijit is a technologist, artist, comics story writer and superhero creator with a rare combination of finance and digital banking.
He is also an international Record Holder In Technology & Finance. He has visited 40+ Countries. He has also helped several villages to become sustainable and become self-dependent.

ONLINE INTERACTIONS with SECOND YEAR STUDENTS
An online interaction session with all the students of third year was organized by the faculty members of Department of IT on 7th February, 2022 from 3 PM to 4 PM. The students were informed about the following issues-

• Attendance is compulsory.
• Attendance in mentoring session is mandatory. Mentoring sessions to be held on 15th of each month.

WORKSHOP on ETHICAL HACKING

Greetings from IEMA Research & Development Pvt. Ltd. (IEMLabs).
IEMLabs is an ISO 27001:2013 and ISO 9001:2015 certified company, we are also a proud member of EC Council, CompTIA, NASSCOM, Data Security Council of India (DSCI), Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Public Relation Society Of India. The company was established in 2016 with a vision in mind to provide Cyber Security to the digital world and make them Hack Proof.
We would like to conduct a Hands-On Workshop on "Ethical Hacking and Current Industry Threats" in collaboration with "EC Council" for the students of the "Information Technology" and "Computer Science and Engineering(IoT CS BT)" Department in your esteemed institution on 4th, 5th, and 6th of April 2022.
The workshop will be conducted by Mr. Hrithik Lall - CTO of IEMLabs, he is Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Certified Ethical Hacker V10 (CEH V10), Certified Network Penetration Tester (CNPT), EC Council Certified Security Analyst V10 (ECSA V10), EC Council Certified Instructor V2 (CEI V2) and BSI Certified ISO 27001 Lead Auditor.
The Workshop will be Hands-On and Offline, therefore the students will be required to carry their own laptops, we will provide the "Lab Setup" via USB. Also, we need proper internet connection during the Workshop.
"Certificates" and "Special Discount Coupons" on EC Council Certification Courses will be given to all the participants, who will attend all three days.
POSTER PRESENTATION
Organizing Unit - Department of IT and CSE (IoTCSBT)
Participants - Students of Second Year, Third Year and Fourth Year
Department of IT and CSE(IoTCSBT) organized a poster presentation on AI ML domain. The final date of submission of the posters was on 11th February, 2022. After the first round of screening, the final presentation was held on 3rd March, 2022.
Students identified emerging social issues and proposed an AI ML based scientific solution of the identified problem through innovative poster presentation.
This event was held with the objective of letting the students identify the value of scientific innovation in addressing social challenges. It assisted the students in informing everybody about developing scientific solutions. It also tried to emphasize the importance of AI & ML and how these improves our lives, as well as to leverage the technology which motivated the students to engage in scientific activities.
One hundred seventy students from Second year IT, CSE(IoTCSBT) participated in the event, out of which seventy-four students qualified in the first round.
Finally top three positions were awarded from Third year IT and Second year IT as well as Second year CSE(IoTCSBT) departments.

Tri Mentoring session for career development.
Department of IT and CSE (IoT CSBT) organized a Tri-mentoring session for career development on enhancing the coding skills of second year and third year students of both the departments on 3rd March 2022. There were two sessions, which were conducted after each shift.
Many major companies across the world consider competitive programming as an essential skill for the job, and so they expect the candidate to be well aware or at least be equipped with the required information to start with them.
The sessions enriched the students’ coding skills and discussed strategies for enhancing their coding skills.
The sessions were taken by faculty members and senior students.
