The Cyprus Chapter of the IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Society was established in 2022 to serve as the primary platform in Cyprus for professionals, researchers, practitioners, and enthusiasts in the field to come together, exchange ideas, and stay updated on the latest developments. In this direction, the IEEE ITSS Cyprus Chapter aims to (a) provide networking, educational, and professional development opportunities to ITS stakeholders in Cyprus, (b) promote research and innovation initiatives among academia, industry, and government at a national level, (c) engage students in ITS, and (d) raise awareness of ITS among the general public.

In agreement with the IEEE ITSS mission and vision, the main objectives of the Cyprus Chapter is to advance the theoretical, experimental, and operational aspects of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies as applied to intelligent transportation systems (ITS), defined as those systems utilizing synergistic technologies and systems engineering concepts to develop and improve transportation systems of all kinds.
