2025 IEEE ITSS R8 Chapters Meeting @ Nicosia, Cyprus
The main goal of the annual IEEE ITSS R8 Chapters Meeting is to encourage collaboration among universities, industry, research institutions, and authorities working in ITS within Region 8. This meeting is the fourth edition of the ITSS R8 Chapters Meeting, aiming to host representatives from at least 13 chapters (Algeria, Austria, Benelux, Cyprus, France, Germany, Italy, Kenya, Norway, Serbia and Montenegro, Spain, Tunisia, and UK & Ireland). Previous meetings were organized in Madrid, Spain (organized in 2022 with the participation of 4 R8 chapters), Berlin, Germany (2023, 6 chapters), and Genova, Italy (2024, 11 chapters).
The 2025 IEEE ITSS R8 Chapters Meeting will take place in Nicosia, Cyprus, on October 16-17.
The meeting will be 1.5 days long and includes the following activities:
Opening ceremony.
Two invited keynote speakers
Poster and technical presentation sessions (a best PhD poster award will be given).
Round table discussions with experts from industry, local authorities, and academia.
A hybrid session with short presentations on chapter activities and best practices from various Chapters.
A discussion session for collaboration opportunities between R8 Chapters.
A social dinner.

Fellowship opportunities
The fellowship opportunity provides financial support to those interested in participating in the 2025 IEEE ITSS R8 Chapters Meeting. The goal is to engage individuals interested in ITSS-related topics and allow them to present their work and discuss with other experts in the field.
The deadline to submit your proposal for the fellowship is July 15, 2025 August 1, 2025.
Eligibility conditions:
The fellowship is open to everyone upon availability.
The fellowship covers travel expenses for up to $700 USD.
We value active members who are enthusiastic about participating in future ITSS events.
You do not need to be an IEEE ITSS member to submit your proposal. However, if awarded the fellowship, IEEE ITSS membership will be required.
The fellowship evaluation will be conducted on a rolling basis, so we encourage you to apply early.
A dedicated committee will evaluate all received applications according to the interest of the topic for the intended audience.

Reimbursement of Travel Costs for Fellowship Recipients:
IEEE ITSS uses Concur to process expense reimbursements of travel expenses and other reimbursements to fellowship recipients. Concur is a cloud-based expense reimbursement application designed to create an easy, efficient, and automated expense reimbursement experience for IEEE ITSS fellowship recipients.
Reports submitted through Concur should be submitted with a cover letter.

Items to note:
All expense reports must be completed and submitted before the end of this year!
Receipts are required for reimbursement of any expense item $20.00 USD or larger.
For air travel, only coach/economy class airfare is reimbursable. Business or first-class airfare is not reimbursable.
IEEE requires hotel expenses to be itemized per day. Please enter separate room rate & room tax amounts.
