Sessions
Format of sessions: Plenary discussions (except Session 2.3) scheduled for about 20 minutes (Chair: ~7min, Reviewer: ~7min, Q&A: ~6min), see Schedule, followed by parallel breakout rooms discussions. For each session, all workshop attendees will be required to sign up for a breakout session.
Responsibilities: Every session (except Session 2.3) will have a Chair, a Reviewer, and a Scribe, with the following responsibilities:
Chair (Ch.): author of the corresponding chapter in the Roadmap (proactive role); summarizes the main points of the section that they helped write; moderates the breakout session that follows.
Reviewer (R.): person assigned to give feedback on the chapter, who is not an author of the chapter; addresses any gaps and addresses major overlaps with other sections; moderates the breakout session that follows together with the Chair.
Scribe (S.): person assigned to document the points raised during the (plenary and breakout) discussions (only for some sessions)
Format of breakouts: Chair and Reviewer will moderate the breakout discussions, and will decide on how to summarize the discussion in the breakout session. For instance, the scribe (if that role has not been assigned, a scribe can be nominated from the breakout participants) could record the deliberations of the breakout (in a format of their choice), and report the summary of the breakout to the whole group at the end of the session.
To all attendees: We would like to request the attendees to play two roles:
Participate in the Q&A of the plenaries
Participate in the breakout sessions that follow
We would like the attendees to sign-up for one of the breakouts in each session. The purpose of these breakouts is to ensure that appropriate steps are taken to address gaps, overlaps, and all remaining items so as to lead to fully fleshed out sections in the corresponding chapters. Your participation will therefore be extremely valuable.
