人口500人ほどの奥川地区で、 増えゆく耕作放棄地から田園風景を守ろうと立ち上がる米農家たちを描いた『田んぼに還る』。ドキュメンタリー映画つぎの民話は「地域で撮り、地域で観る」をコンセプトに、映像制作から上映までを住民と共に行い、自分たち自身が現在進行形の民話であることを確かめる。（小さな集落の集会所に出向いての上映行脚はいまも続いている。）

In the approximately 500-person community of Okugawa, “Returning to the Rice Fields” (『田んぼに還る』) portrays rice farmers who have risen to protect the rural landscape from the increasing spread of abandoned farmland.The documentary project “Tsugi no Minwa” (つぎの民話) is based on the concept of “filmed in the community, watched in the community,” in which residents participate in everything from production to screening, reaffirming that they themselves are a folktale in progress.(The practice of traveling to small village assembly halls for screening tours continues even today.)
