Dep Ed

The Department of Education (DepEd) in the Philippines actively integrates Information and Communications Technology (ICT) through initiatives like the ICTS-EdTech Unit, which empowers educators and provides access to technologies such as DepEd Commons and DepEd TV, and the Special Program in Information and Communications Technology (SP-ICT), which develops ICT skills in elementary and junior high school students.  Meanwhile, UNESCO promotes ICT in education globally, advocating for inclusive education and supporting innovative approaches, particularly through the Alternative Learning System (ALS), and collaborating with DepEd on projects such as the "Better Life for Out-of-School Girls" project and the 2020 Global Education Monitoring (GEM) report to improve education quality, bridge the digital divide, and prepare Filipino learners for the future.
