ICRA 2024 Full-day Workshop
C4SR+: Continuum, Compliant, Cooperative, Cognitive Surgical Robotic Systems in the Embodied AI Era
May 13, 2024
Pacific Convention Plaza
Yokohama, Japan
Overview
Recent years have seen considerable advancements in robot-assisted minimally invasive surgery (RMIS). To further reduce the invasiveness of RMIS, various robotic platforms have been developed to access surgical sites inside the patient’s body through a single port or even natural orifices. However, challenges persist in performing surgeries with these robotic systems, particularly in control, simulation, perception, and intellectualization. The era of embodied artificial intelligence (AI) has revealed great potential to address these challenges, enabling adaptation to more complex tasks in surgery.
Aim and Scope
This workshop explores the evolving landscape of RMIS, and focuses on the development of continuum, compliant, cooperative, and cognitive surgical robotic systems (C4SR), along with the advancements of embodied AI and computer vision for surgery (+). The workshop invites leading researchers to showcase state-of-the-art advancements in C4SR, and discuss the integration of emerging technologies such as soft continuum robotics, interactive simulation, computer vision, and embodied AI.
Join us as we uncover the future of surgical robotics in the era of embodied AI, marked by improved surgical outcomes and surgeon-robot collaboration.
