Important Changes in day 2 (15 March)

On 15 March 2019, there will be a national education strike, involving employees from primary education up to higher education, to call attention to the reduction of work pressure and more government investment in education. Within this context, the Dutch WOinActie protest movement is campaigning for the university and its future. Both the ICO board and ICO management support these actions. ICO has already informed you about this in the extra ICO newsletter on the 31^st of January.

As a consequence, the second day of the NSS will have a different character: instead of the planned workshops and presentations, the second day will be devoted to action and reflection on the field of education and educational research. We hope that all ICO members support this campaign, by joining the WOinActie protest together with the NSS-participants, but this second day is no longer a mandatory part of the NSS.

For this reason, all presentations will be scheduled on the first day of the NSS. We will try to organise one or two of the preferred workshops for the PhDs at an alternative event. We will inform you about this at a later stage.

On Thursday evening we will come together for the NSS-dinner, in a location close to Amsterdam Zuid railway station. For those who already planned to stay over on Thursday evening, we would like you to join us to come to The Hague to campaign. If there are enough people staying with us, we are considering to hire a bus to go there together, leaving from Amsterdam Zuid. Please let us know if you will join the bus by filling in this form before the 20th of February. For all who are going to The Hague from other places, we will inform you about a meeting point in The Hague, from where you can join us if you want.
