“Glocalizing Nature Conservation for a Future-Proofed Environment"
Impacts of global environmental problems are experienced in local setting. Though the problems are global in nature and scope, destructions take place locally. Thus, mitigating these problems require a global perspective with localized implementation. However, this requires creating a venue where experts from various disciplines, practices, and localities can convene and exchange information and experiences that others may adopt for their own context, hence, the conference.
The theme, “Glocalizing Nature Conservation for a Future-Proofed Environment,” deals with addressing global environmental issues through local practices. It connects global problems to local solutions as impacts of these problems are experienced by local communities. Initiatives related to local practices such as the localization of risk management of seawater rise, plastic-on-seas management, education for sustainable development, and the like can be potentially shared in the conference.
