Pao-Ann Hsiung, Ph.D., earned his B.S. in Mathematics and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University in 1991 and 1996, respectively. He served as a post-doctoral researcher at the Institute of Information Science, Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan, ROC, from 1996 to 2000. Between 2001 and 2007, Dr. Hsiung held academic positions at National Chung Cheng University, starting as an assistant professor and progressing to a full professor. He served as the division chief, department chair, and Dean of International Affairs at the university. In 2018, he became the Director-General of the Intelligence Technologies Department at the Chiayi City Government. Dr. Hsiung has been the Director of the Smart Living Technology Research Center at National Chung Cheng University since August 2015. Additionally, from December 2018, he has served as the Deputy Director of the Taiwan-India Joint Research Center on Artificial Intelligence at the same university. With a notable publication record, Dr. Hsiung has authored over 279 papers in international journals and conferences. He received several awards, including the 2010 Outstanding Research Award from National Chung Cheng University. He is a fellow of the IET, a senior member of the IEEE and ACM, and a life member of the IICM. Dr. Hsiung has been recognized in professional listings such as Marquis’ Who’s Who in the World, Marquis’ Who’s Who in Asia, and Outstanding People of the 20th Century by the International Biographical Centre, among others. He serves as an editor-in-chief for the software engineering topic of the International Journal of Advancements in Computing Technology and the automated control systems topic of the International Journal of Intelligent Information Processing. His research interests encompass reconfigurable computing, multi-core programming, smart city technology, cognitive radio architecture, System-on-Chip design, embedded software synthesis, real-time system design, hardware-software codesign, and component-based object-oriented application frameworks for real-time embedded systems. Dr. Hsiung has actively participated in numerous international conferences as an organizer, program chair, and committee member.

Dr. Chhandak Mukherjee received the M.Tech. and Ph.D. degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, Kharagpur, India, in 2010 and 2013, respectively. From 2013, he had been with the IMS laboratory, University of Bordeaux, Bordeaux, France, and the Leibniz Institute for Microelectronics, IHP, Frankfurt, Germany, as a Postdoctoral Researcher. Since 2019, he has been working as a Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS) Researcher with the IMS Laboratory focusing on advanced characterization methods, reliability assessment, and physics-based compact modeling of advanced and emerging semiconductor technologies. He is currently involved as a Work-package Leader of a European project for developing 3-D integrated computing architectures with embedded neural networks based on vertical nanowire transistors as AI accelerators.
