Dr. Wei is a Principal Research Scientist at Amazon. He received the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the Beijing University of Technology in 2001. Before joining Amazon, he served as the Director for the Vision Technology at UtopiaCompression heading advanced research programs in image compression, computer vision and learning algorithms for unmanned systems. He has coauthored 50+ scientific publications and patents in image processing, video compression, video quality analysis, content-based visual learning, and machine vision.

Yixu is an applied scientist in Prime Video compression efficiency team. He received his M.S. in Computer Engineering at Texas A&M in 2021. He worked on video super-resolution, video quality assessment, video saliency and video coding. He also has experience in open source projects like x264, x265, SHVC, FFMEPG, etc.

Bowen Chen is a Ph.D. student at The University of Texas at Austin, advised by Prof. Alan Bovik in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Her research focuses on video quality assessment, computer vision, and video compression.

Al Bovik holds the Cockrell Family Regents Endowed Chair at The University of Texas at Austin, where he Directs the Laboratory for Image and Video Engineering (LIVE). His research develops new principles of visual neuroscience, bringing them to practice in workflows impacting the photographic, television, streaming and social media industries at the widest scales. A member of the US National Academy of Engineering, he received the John Fritz Medal, IEEE Edison Medal, RPS Progress Medal, IEEE Fourier Award, Optica’s Edwin Land Medal, a Primetime Emmy Award, and a Technology and Engineering Emmy Award.
