Colloquium CIDMA/DMat

Wednesday, March 20

ROOM 11.1.3 (Math Department)

The Colloquium CIDMA/DMat is jointly organized by the Center for Research & Development in Mathematics and Applications (CIDMA) by the Department of Mathematics of the University of Aveiro (DMat).

These colloquiums are Public Lectures given by speakers with an academic career of recognized excellence and aim to disseminate mathematical topics of interest to the academic community, from students to professors/researchers.

As part of the ICHAA program, we are pleased to announce that the next Colloquium CIDMA/DMat will be presented by Professor Michael Ruzhansky (Ghent University and Queen Mary University of London).

What to do with strong singularities in differential equations?

In this lecture, we will give a brief overview of several approaches dealing with PDEs with singularities of different strengths. Then we will concentrate on discussing the new method of very weak solutions, allowing one to deal with their well-posedness.
