ICENES'19

Due to higher fabrication cost of crystalline Silicon solar cells with discouraging Power Conversion Efficiency(PCE), metal oxides, ternary oxides and perovskites in both crystalline and nano forms are being used to enhance PCE. Similarly, nanostructures of different morphologies like nanowire, nanotubes, chunk shaped nanostructures, dumbbell and flower type morphologies and core shell nanostructures are also tried. Since there is an increasing demand for the alternate energy resources particularly solar energy globally, an intense research on the fabrication of solar cells with enhanced Power Conversion Efficiency (PCE) has been going on for the past two decades. Evolution of solar cells today is a testimony to the progress of research to the present fourth generation solar cells. Basically, the different generation of solar cells differed mainly by the materials used in their design. Today, Dye Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSCs) and polymer based solar cells coupled with nano materials compete to replace the c-Si, where the PCE is still around 25%. In order to put more thrust on such activities, this conference is planned for the young research scholars and teachers where eminent scientists would stimulate the researchers from the basic concepts of solar cells and the method of fabrication, selection of materials, morphologies and other important concepts behind the enhancement of PCE.
