HISTORY OF THE HOLE

On July 31st, 2021, the creators of the hole, Baldur and Finnur were working for their grandpa in Súðavík, Iceland and got a great idea - they would dig a hole in the forest behind the playground Raggagarđur and try to dig it really deep. So, they got a shovel and some gloves and started digging the hole. After work every day, they dug the hole deeper.

When Baldur and Finnur came back the next year, they went to check up on the hole, but sadly, it wasn't there anymore. They then dug a new hole. This hole was much deeper and bigger

In 2024, they wanted to advertise for the hole in some way, so that other people could come see it. They made custom signs to show directions to the hole with help from their grandpa. They also added The Hole to Tripadvisor and started advertising for it on social media. To make The Hole look professional, they made a website for it, which is the one you're currently on.

In April of 2025, they went to The Hole to check up on it and saw that it was filled with water. This was because it was snowing and the snow had melted. It will propably go away soon, though.

On March 7th 2026, The Hole was added to Google Maps so that you can get directions to it and review it.
