Aim of the conference
The main aim of this conference is to bring together the scientists in India and abroad working for sustainable development for the entire globe right from pre and post covid situations in academics, research institutions, industries to discuss various issues, challenges and their possible remedies to keep the earth clean, green for over the comming future in different spheres of life with overall improvement in economy, health and environment.
About the Tripura University
In 1937, Bir Bikramkishore Manikya, the last Maharaja of Princely state Tripura, laid the foundation-stone of Higher education in Tripura with the establishment of Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) College, the first degree college in the State, started functioning under the University of Calcutta only in 1947. At time progressed, after independence (15th August, 1947) princely state of Tripura was merged with the Union of India on 15 October 1949 and Tripura became a Union Territory on 1 July 1963, and finally attained the status of a full-fledged state on 21 January 1972. Thereafter, as a part of progression of Higher Education in India, Tripura was sanctioned by the Govt. of India in 1976, a post-graduate wing of the Calcutta University, named Calcutta University Post graduate Centre (CUPGC). Subsequently, it was converted to Tripura University on 2 October, 1987 as full fledged University. Tripura University has been converted to a Central University w.e.f 2nd July,2007 under the Tripura University Act,2006 as enacted by the Parliament, Govt. of India.
The University campus is in a green 75 acres semi-urban setting on the National Highway at Suryamaninagar, about 10 kms south of the capital city Agartala. The Tripura University Act envisages that the objective of the University shall not only be “to disseminate and advance knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities” in the state in areas of contemporary relevance to the society and the country (with the motto “pursuit of excellence”) but to make special provisions for studies in local tribal life and culture and to introduce vocational subjects with a view to provide employment opportunities to the students. The Act specifically enjoins the University to organize specialized diploma, degree and post-graduate courses in certain subjects.
Presently there are 52 numbers of affiliated colleges among which 27 are General Degree Colleges, 19 Professional Degree Colleges, 2 Technical Colleges and 4 Polytechnic Institutes.The University is running various courses under Science and Arts & Commerce Faculty. A total number of 41 Doctoral Programmes (Ph.D.), 60 Postgraduate Programmes (P.G), 6 Postgraduate Diploma Programmes and 7 Undergraduate Programmes (U.G) are running in Tripura University. Despite several odds at its inception, the University has been trying to overcome various difficulties with the cooperation of the State Government, the Union Govt. of India.
As academic performance of chemistry department large number of pass out students found recognition in various prestigious institutions in India and Abroad and has become are well settled throughout the globe. Large numbers of students are also spread over the whole country holding different positions right from teaching to R&D Scientists in Govt. Research Institutions and Industries. Students are also involved in research programs or pursuing advanced degrees at various places of India and abroad with appreciable research output such as publications, conference presentations.
About Tripura
Tripura is a state located in northeastern India (23.5639° N, 91.6761° E). This state in India by area, bordered by Bangladesh to the north, south, and west, and the Indian states of Assam to the east and Mizoram to the northeast. The terrain is mostly hilly with valleys and plains. The capital of Tripura is Agartala, which is also the largest city in the state.Tripura has a diverse population with several ethnic groups, including Bengali, Tripuri, Manipuri, and others. Bengali is the most widely spoken language, followed by Kokborok, which is the native language of the Tripuri people. The economy of Tripura is primarily agrarian, with agriculture, horticulture, and forestry being the main sources of livelihood for a significant portion of the population.
The state also has some small-scale industries and a growing tourism sector. Tripura has a rich cultural heritage, influenced by the various ethnic groups residing in the state. Traditional dance forms like the Garia and Hojagiri are popular, and festivals such as Durga Puja, Diwali, and Holi are celebrated with great enthusiasm.Tripura is known for its natural beauty, with attractions like the Neermahal Palace, Tripura Sundari Temple, Unakoti, Jampui Hills, and Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary drawing tourists. The state government has been promoting tourism to boost its economy. Tripura has a parliamentary system of government like the rest of India, with a Chief Minister as the head of the state government. The state is represented by members in the Lok Sabha (Lower House) and the Rajya Sabha (Upper House) of the Indian Parliament. This state has several educational institutions, including Tripura University, National Institute of Technology, and various colleges and schools. Efforts have been made to improve the educational infrastructure in the state. Overall, Tripura is a culturally rich state with a unique blend of traditions, languages, and landscapes, contributing to the diversity of India's northeastern region.
The population in Tripura is about 4.0 million and are leaving harmony and peace. People speak in bengali, Hindi, English and local Kokborok languages.
Climate: The climate in Agartala during February is pleasant with night time low of 12-15oC and a Day time high as 27oC with plenty of sunlight.
