Anti-Bullying Policy and Procedure for Ice Studios School of Dance
At Ice Studios School of Dance, we are committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all of our students. We recognize that bullying can have a serious and negative impact on students' mental health and wellbeing, and we are committed to taking all necessary steps to prevent and address bullying in our community.
Policy Statement:
Ice Studios School of Dance has a zero-tolerance policy towards bullying. We define bullying as any repeated, intentional behavior that is meant to hurt, harm or intimidate someone else physically, emotionally or socially. We will not tolerate bullying in any form, including but not limited to:
Verbal bullying, such as name-calling, teasing, or insulting remarks
Physical bullying, such as hitting, pushing, or tripping
Social bullying, such as excluding someone from a group or spreading rumors
Procedure:
Reporting Bullying: If a student or parent/guardian suspects or witnesses bullying, they should report it immediately to a teacher or staff member at Ice Studios School of Dance. Reports may be made in person, by phone, or via email.
Investigation: Upon receiving a report of bullying, Ice Studios School of Dance will investigate the incident promptly and thoroughly. We will gather all relevant information and speak to any witnesses or involved parties. We will keep all reports of bullying confidential, to the extent possible, and will only share information on a need-to-know basis.
Action: If we determine that bullying has occurred, we will take appropriate action to address the behavior and protect the victim. Depending on the severity and frequency of the bullying, actions may include, but are not limited to:
Verbal warning and counseling for the perpetrator
Written warning to the perpetrator
Suspension or expulsion from the class or program
Referral to law enforcement, if appropriate
Follow-up: Ice Studios School of Dance will follow up with the victim and their family to ensure their safety and well-being. We will also provide support and resources to help the victim cope with the bullying and any associated emotional distress.
Prevention: To prevent bullying from occurring in the future, Ice Studios School of Dance will provide ongoing education and training to our staff, students, and parents/guardians. We will encourage open communication and foster a positive and inclusive environment where all students feel valued and respected.
