Prof. Dr. Ir. Dean Vučinić is professor at the Brussels School of Governance (BSoG) at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), which is an alliance between the Institute for European Studies (IES) and Vesalius College (VeCo), which he joined in 2017, as adjunct Professor in Global Business and Entrepreneurship/Bachelors and Masters Preparatory Programmes. He is affiliated to VUB since 1988, and before joining VeCo, he was guest professor and senior research scientist at the VUB Faculty of Engineering Sciences (IR) in 2 departments: Mechanical Engineering (MECH) and Electronics & Informatics (ETRO). He is also visiting Full Professor at Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology (FERIT), University of Osijek and Technical Faculty, University of Pula (UNIPU), both in Croatia. His work is mostly related to Research and Development (R&D) projects, and his interest covers Scientific Visualization, Modelling and Simulation, Optimization methodologies and techniques. His Ph.D. became a book, as in the early 90's he developed "CFView - Computational Field Visualization System" the first-time-ever interactive visualization software for numerical simulations, fully based on the object-oriented technology. VUB spin-off NUMECA is still using his software after more than 20 years, more than 20 VUB PhD-s applied CFView in their visualization and data analysis tasks. During +30 years at VUB, he successfully participated in +20 European Commission R&D projects (FP, H2020, EUREKA/ITEA and Tempus/Erasmus+). He is author of more than 70 scientific papers in international reviewed journals and conference proceedings, and in addition, author of several book chapters. He is member of International Boards of Journals and Conferences, acting as chair, session organizer, reviewer and editor. He is promoting and encouraging international cooperation in research and development, and education; realised initiatives with USA, Canada, Russia, Brazil, India, Egypt and Japan, among others. He is the European Commission expert in H2020 and member of international organizations: AIAA, IEEE, ACM, SAE & ASME.
Prof. Dr. Alam Md. Mahbub is a professor at the Shenzhen Graduate School of Harbin Institute of Technology (China) since 2012. He worked as a senior lecturer at the University of Pretoria (South Africa), research and postdoctoral fellows at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and lecturer at the Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (Bangladesh). He received MEng and PhD degrees from Kitami Institute of Technology, Japan, in 2001 and 2004, all in Mechanical Engineering. He has supervised 9 postdocs, 6 PhD students and 47 masters students. More than 300 technical articles are authored and co-authored, including 147 journal papers, most of which have been published in the top-notched journals, including Journal of Fluid Mechanics, Journal of Fluids & Structures, Physics of Fluids, and Journal of Sustainable and Energy Reviews. His papers are well cited, 3034 (h-index 32) in WoS database and 4740 (h-index 39) in google database. He has been listed as highly cited researcher for 2018 (single year) and 2020 (single year) by Web of Science, ranked top 2% in both years. He is the author of two books and 18 chapters in books. He has edited four special issues in ‘Wind and Structures, an International Journal’ and a conference proceeding published in Research publishing, Singapore. He has delivered 20 Keynote speeches at international conferences. His research has mostly involved flow-induced vibrations, flow-induced noise, turbulent wake behind bluff bodies, wind load on structures, fluid-structure interactions, hydrodynamics of swimming animals, flow control, and energy harvesting from wind and ocean current. Prof Alam has received a number of awards: Japan Government Scholarship (monbusho) for Masters and PhD studies; JSPS (Japan Society for Promotion of Science) Postdoctoral fellowship; South Africa National Research Foundation (NRF) rating ‘Promising Young Researcher, Y1’; China 1000-young-talent scholar; Shenzhen High-Level Overseas Talent; Shenzhen High-Level Professional; 2015 Shenzhen Outstanding Teacher; 2017 Nanshan-District High-Level Talent, and 2016 HIT Creative Talent Teacher. He has also received 06 best paper awards from different conferences. He is an editorial board member of ‘Wind and Structures, an International Journal’.
Dr. Gerardo Carbajal currently works at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Florida Polytechnic University. Gerardo does research in Mechanical Engineering. His most recent publication is "Flow Around an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle With Bio-Inspired Coating".
Prof. Dr. Bale V Reddy is a Professor in Mechanical Engineering in Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, Ontario Tech University (UOIT), Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. Prior to this Dr. Reddy worked as an Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department, University of New Brunswick (UNB), Fredericton, Canada. Dr. Reddy received his MTech and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from IIT, Kharagpur, India. Dr. Reddy's research interests are in the area of advanced and sustainable energy systems, exergy analysis, energy management, waste heat recovery and alternative energy sources. He has led funded research projects in the area of energy systems. Dr. Reddy has published 200 papers in refereed journals and refereed conference proceedings. He is also involved in the organization of many international conferences as a chair, track chair, organizing committee member, advisory committee member etc. He has also chaired technical sessions in international conferences and has delivered key note and invited presentations in conferences. Dr. Reddy also contributed book chapters along with his research collaborators in energy systems area. Dr. Reddy has also received best professor award for teaching excellence five times both in India (VIT, Vellore) and in Canada (UNB, Fredericton; UOIT, Oshawa).
Prof. Dr. K Arul Prakash is currently a Professor in the Department of Applied Mechanics, IITM, Chennai. His broad areas of research are Fluid Dynamics, Heat transfer and Numerical methods. Specific topics of research currently being pursued are Computational fluid dynamics and heat transfer, Cooling Technologies, Thermal hydraulics, Aerodynamics, Optimization and Parallel Computing. He has more than 40 publications in International Journals of high repute. He guided 05 PhD students and currently guiding more than 10 students. He also author of many chapters in special edited books. He is a DAAD fellow received from Germany and awarded Distinguished Alumni Award from Amrita University. He has received funding for several projects from various sponsoring agencies including MHRD, DRDO, ISRO, DHI, Apollo Tyres, Aeronautical Development and Research Board and the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
Dr. C. B. Sobhan currently teaches in the School of Materials Science and Engineering and in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Calicut, India. He is also a research collaborator and affiliate at the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology, USA. Dr. Sobhan earned his Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India, in 1990 following his Master of Technology (1986) from the same institute, and Bachelor of Technology from Regional Engineering College Calicut (1984), which is presently National Institute of Technology, Calicut. He performed post-doctoral studies at Purdue University, Indiana, USA (1999-2000) and since then, is focusing on research in microscale and nanoscale heat transfer. Dr. Sobhan was a visiting faculty member at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York, USA, during 2003-2004, working in the area of microscale heat transfer. He has also held research positions at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, USA. At the international level, Dr. Sobhan performs collaborative research with Professor G. P. Peterson, former President of the Georgia Institute of Technology. He has been a visiting researcher at Georgia Tech since 2010. He is also involved in collaborative research with Stokes Research Institute, University of Limerick, Ireland and Nanomaterials Laboratory (Prof. Pulickel M. Ajayan's Laboratory), Rice University, USA. Dr. Sobhan has authored a book titled "Microscale and Nanoscale Heat Transfer-Fundamentals and Engineering Applications" published by Taylor and Francis in 2008. He has more than 88 International publications including 4 book chapters. He has served as keynote speaker and session chair at various International Conferences and is also the reviewer of several technical journals of international repute.
Dr. M Sekar holds the current position of Principal, AAA college of Engineering and Technology, Sivakasi, India. Formerly he held the post of Head of the Department, Mechanical Engineering at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Coimbatore. Dr. Sekar had obtained his doctoral degree from Kyungpook National University, South Korea. He was awarded the prestigious Korean Research Fund (KRF) to carry out his research. His research interests include Computational geometry, motion control of CNC and robots, stability analysis of machining processes and industrial IOT. He is a fellow of Institution of Engineers and active member of several professional bodies. He has published more than 70 research papers in reputed International Journals and Conferences. He has two patented inventions in his credit.
