The IBRU Recognition Awards were created in 2023 as a way to honor members who have contributed greatly to the success of the club through their engagement, participation, volunteerism and positive example over the course of the year, and to recognize the business that has proven itself an amazing partner to the club.
There are four Annual IBRU Recognition Awards
IBRUer Of The Year
IBRU Rookie Of The Year
IBRU Competition Champion
IBRU Host Of The Year
In the fall of each year, the officers will identify the eligible nominees for each award, and members will vote to determine the award recipients at the December club meeting. The Recognition Awards will be presented at the December Holiday Party or the following January club meeting.
The award recipients will receive a ribbon in recognition of their efforts on behalf of IBRU, will be memorialized on the IBRU website, and will be recognized on IBRU social media.
IBRUer Of The Year
The IBRUer Of The Year is awarded to the Member who has proven their amazing value to the club time and time again by standing out as an example to other IBRUers. The recipient of this recognition award exhibits a high level of participation in club events, promotes and encourages others to engage in club activities, is an excellent representative of the club, and actively participates in local and/or IBRU-sponsored competitions.
IBRU Rookie Of The Year
The IBRU Rookie Of The Year is awarded to the new member, either in their first year of homebrewing or in their first year with IBRU, who rises above the crowd by demonstrating great value to the club throughout the year. This person exhibits a high level of involvement, is highly engaged in club activities, and participates in local and/or IBRU-sponsored competitions.
IBRU Competition Champ
The annual IBRU Competition Champion Recognition Award is presented to the Member who has the highest accumulated point total based on competition results over the course of the calendar year. Points will be awarded for finishes in any IBRU or AHA/BJCP-sanctioned competition during the calendar year. See here for rules and scoring.
IBRU Host Of The Year
The IBRU Host Of The Year is awarded to the place of business that has hosted an IBRU-sanctioned event and has gone the furthest above and beyond expectations in supporting the IBRU mission.
The IBRU Host Of The Year award recipient will also receive a plaque (suitable for hanging/display) in recognition of their efforts on behalf of IBRU.
