Read the book
Please review chapter headings, illustrations, character names, and plot before class.
On SSR days you will bring two books to school: The book you have read and the book you will read next.
Your teacher will check the google form to see if your book is there.
When your teacher calls you, she will ask you questions about anything in the book.
After you finish she will approve your next book
Fill out the SSR form for your next book
It is important to develop a habit of reading independently and for your own interests and pleasure. Our class is limited in what we can expose you to and we do not want to risk making reading boring for you.
We also are preparing you for the IB DP exams where you will write about texts you have read that fit the criteria. The more you read, the more you will have to choose from.
But mostly we want you to read for fun and exploration.
