Meet the Staff

Brenda Lin

Hiii! My name is Brenda and I’m a senior at USC studying Business Admin! I’m going to be the 7th grade girls small group leader this year and I’m so excited to do life with them :) I enjoy watching the Office, making Spotify playlists, and drinking Coke Zero!! One of my favorite passages is Philippians 1:9-11 because it reminds us to constantly pray for a greater love for God and his people, to desire deeper knowledge of his word, to depend on Christ and his righteousness, and to do everything for the glory and praise of God.

Isabella Noh

Hi everyone! My name is Isabella Noh and I will be leading the 6th graders :D. I just graduated from USC (objectively the best college ever) studying Health Promotion and Disease Prevention. Some of the things I love most in this world are my puppy named Parker, dogs in general, arts and crafts, cooking Korean food, and lying down in the shade on a large picnic blanket on a perfect 9mph breezy, 72 degree weather day. One of my favorite Bible verses is Proverbs 3:5-6. I learned it as a song when I was a kid and now the verse serves as a daily reminder to surrender everything to God.

Jacob Lee

Hi, I’m Jacob! This year, I have the privilege of co-leading the 9th grade boys small group with David Lee. Currently I work for the Los Angeles Rams doing paid media and digital marketing. I enjoy playing volleyball, going out of my way to eat delicious food, snowboarding, exploring the outdoors, and cooking! Fun fact about me is that i am extremely double jointed in my elbows! My favorite bible verse is Acts 4:12 because it shows how dependent we are on the Lord for salvation.

Rob Chew

Hey everyone! I'm Rob, and I serve as the Youth Minister. I am a proud girl dad with two daughters. Some fun facts are that I love raw vegetables, Avatar the Last Airbender and all things related time period of 1800's-1950's (Yes I'm a history nerd). I love Zootopia, Parks and Rec, and poke. One of my favorite verses is 1 Samuel 12:24 because it reminds me that if I'm going to do anything at all with my life, it should be to serve the Lord faithfully with all my heart because of how He has saved me.

David Lee

Hey everyone, thanks for taking the time to read thi-- BOOM... Guess you didn't expect that huh?

Greetings! I'm David Lee, current 9th grade co-leader with Jacob Roger Lee. I currently spend my days working at UCLA in medical records. Hobbies include, but are not limited to; volleyball, hiking, cooking, eating good friends and hanging out with foods, and getting to know you, i.e. the reader... Fun fact? There are 541 characters in this blurb. Favorite Bible verse? I'll give you two. Philippians 2:10-11, Galatians 2:20, & Galatians 6:9-10.

Zenny Dong

Hello! I’m Zenny and I lead the small group for the 9th grade girls :) I’m currently doing some public health related work with a nonprofit in LA. Some of my favorite hobbies include making coffee, doing calligraphy, and playing basketball! Some of my favorite things include the color orange, oranges, and my orange car! One of my favorite Bible verses is Romans 12:1-2 which is a reminder to worship God by presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice and to not be conformed to this world.

Emma Yang

Hello hello! My name's Emma, and I'm a fourth-year student studying Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics at UCLA (>>>USC). This year, I'll be leading the small group for the 8th grade girls. In my free time, I enjoy doodling, playing piano, reading, cuddling with my cat Nala, and hiking; I'm also a pretty big fan of anime and manga! An interesting activity that I've picked up over quarantine is learning Japanese on Duolingo (my streak is over a year long now). My phone lock screen displays Philippians 1:6 so I can be constantly reminded that I'm able to grow closer to God and be sanctified because of the redemptive work of Christ on the cross.

Mandi Ahn

Hi! My name is Mandi Ahn, and I lead the small group for the 10th-12th grade girls! I also lead a very exciting life as a tax accountant at a mid-tier public accounting firm. I’ve been at IBC my whole life, and I have had the joy and privilege of serving on youth staff since my good ol’ college years. Some of the most “interesting” things about me is that I make pour over coffee for myself every morning, I love everything Jane Austen, the only sport I’m good at/enjoy is skiing, and I’m always down for street tacos or Korean food. A book of the Bible that is very near and dear to my heart is 1 John because it reminds me of what true faith looks like and that having affections for God starts with looking at who He is.

Matthew Ahn

Hello!! My name is Matthew Ahn, and I am small group leading the 10th to 12th grade guys. I recently graduated from USC, and I am currently studying to become an actuary. Some of my current hobbies include running, playing guitar and bass, and playing chess (yes I’m a nerd haha). A fun fact about myself is that my favorite chips are the sweet maui onion hawaiian chips, and one time, I ate a whole family sized bag by myself in one sitting. One of my favorite verses in the bible is Philippians 2:3-4 which reminds us that we need to remain humble in everything we do and later on in that same chapter, it explains how Jesus is the ultimate example of humility for us to follow.

Ellie Paik

Hi I’m Ellie and I am a third year at USC (fight on!). This year I’ll be co-leading the 10th grade to 12th grade girls small group. In my free time I can be found taking naps, eating Clif bars (specifically the chocolate brownie flavor), or falling on my skateboard. One of my favorite verses is James 1:2 which reminds me to turn back to Christ in times of true need and even in the small struggles of daily life.

Alex To

Hello, I'm Alex! I was born and raised in San Diego and am the youngest of three. In college, I met my wife Stephanie and now have the joy to raise three young men. Currently, I work at a finance company in Pasadena doing client service and marketing. This year, I will be leading small group for the 6th grade boys. My favorite Bible verse is Ephesians 1:4.

Christopher Ahn

Hi! My name is Chris Ahn, and I will be leading the small group for the 7th grade guys! I am currently an undergraduate senior at USC (Fight on!), and I have been at IBC my entire life! Some of my hobbies include playing basketball and playing guitar/piano too! One of my favorite bible passages is Philippians 2:8-11 which sums up the gospel perfectly by describing how Jesus humbled himself to a death on a cross for us, and that this is the reason why he deserves all of the glory in the world! Very excited to serve on youth staff!

Bethia Kwok

Hii, I’m Bethia! I was born in Hong Kong but grew up in Seattle and Hong Kong before finally coming to UCLA! I’m in my third-year studying MCDBurger (molecular, cell and developmental biology) and I have the joy of co-leading the 7th grade girls!! I realise I love a lot of ‘B’ things so here’s a few: British English (taking the lift WOO), Bruins, blue, basketball, baking and backpacking. I’ve also watched my fair share of kdramas and I have a hard time saying no to anything related to good food hehe Hebrews 4:14-16 is really close to my heart because it reminds me that our God is almighty and holy, but also gracious, compassionate and one who understands our infirmities even when we think no one can.
