Adri is a co-lab manager for the Ibberson Lab. In her role, she assists with ongoing experiments, mentors students, and oversees various lab responsibilities. She is passionate about research, particularly in the fields of infectious disease and microbial interactions. When she is not in the lab, Adri enjoys playing kickball, trying out new recipes, gardening, and spending quality time with her loved ones, including her gecko and cat.
Ph.D. Evolutionary Molecular Biology, University of Cincinnati | 2024
Tyler is a co-lab manager and research technician in the Ibberson Lab who is driven to investigate how environmental factors influence biology on micro and molecular levels. Tyler’s graduate work characterized adaptations to low environmental oxygen in the blind Mexican cavefish. He aims to apply many of the same techniques to further our understanding of polymicrobial community composition as it relates to treatment outcomes. Outside the lab, Tyler enjoys cheering on One Knox SC and FC Cincinnati, playing chess and other board games, and hiking.
M.S. Microbiology, University of Oklahoma | 2024
Aanuoluwa is a Microbiology Ph.D. Candidate whose work is focused onunderstanding the interactions between Staphylococcus aureus and other key microbes that make up the infection community in human chronic wounds. Her goal is to highlight how these interactions may impact the infection stability and virulence of S. aureus. She is particularly interested in investigating how this microbial community structure and function can be replicated in experimentally tractable models of infection.

Shannon is a microbiology doctoral student and certified medical laboratory scientist who is interested in advancing the field of medical laboratory diagnostics by pursuing a career as an infectious disease laboratory director, researcher, and educator. In the Ibberson lab, she seeks to understand how microbiome interactions impact disease progression and treatment outcomes. Outside of the lab, you can find Shannnon spending quality tie with her two children, socializing with friends, putting together a puzzle, or working out.

Ashley is a microbiology Ph.D. student with a strong passion for investigating antimicrobial resistance and pathogenesis in bacteria. She aims to combine these interests with her love for microscopy to analyze polymicrobial infections within chronic wound environments. When not in the lab, she can most often be found doing puzzles, gaming with friends, or looking for an energy drink.
