My ethical dilemma project focused on the SpaceX, space exploration, and cosmic colonization and it's ethical implications. By weighing pros and cons, along with taking into account multiple perspectives, I was able to develop my specific view on the topic. The research process tested my ability of vetting sites, and engaging in proper scholarly practices.
By digging deep into the environmental, socioeconomical and cultural implications of Elon Musk's billion-dollar corporation, I determined that the research and development of his rockets were justified on the grounds that in the eventual and inevitable event where Earth becomes uninhabitable, SpaceX and similar companies might be the last resort for humans. Additionally, taking into account that SpaceX does extensive research into eco-safe fuels, supports world-wide low-cost Wi-Fi, and is partnered with Tesla (through Musk) for sustainable personal vehicles.
