The nearest airport to Kharagpur is Kolkata's Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (CCU). To travel to Kharagpur, proceed to the airport taxi stand in Kolkata and get a cab.  It is nearly 140 kilometers away. The trip takes about 2.30 hours and costs about Rs. 4000.

Another way is to take a cab to Howrah station, from where frequent local and express trains to Kharagpur are available.

Kharagpur is well connected to most major cities of India by rail. There are frequent trains to Kharagpur.  Kharagpur is one of the major railway stations in the Kolkata-Mumbai Main Line.
