We invite all members of the international AI research community to submit their best work to the Workshop on Intelligent Agents in Science and Engineering at the 28th European Conference on Artificial Intelligence (ECAI-2025), which will take place in the historic city of Bologna from October 25 to 30, 2025.
The objective of this multidisciplinary session is to bring together both researchers and practitioners to discuss the methodological, technical, organizational, and environmental aspects of intelligent agents used across various application domains in science and engineering. In recent years, the fields of agents and multi-agent systems have garnered significant attention. These areas strongly intersect with many others in computer science, including machine learning, artificial intelligence, computational modeling, and more. Agents and multi-agent systems have been successfully applied to a wide range of problem areas in science and engineering, such as modeling, simulation, decision-making, and control problems. This workshop will explore various facets of intelligent agents, including their applications in scientific discovery, data analysis, optimization, and problem-solving within engineering domains. We welcome submissions on advancements in agent research and their application within science and engineering, both in academia and industry.
All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer review process by the program committee. Papers will be evaluated based on relevance, clarity, significance, originality, soundness, reproducibility, scholarship, and quality of presentation.
The workshop will be conducted in person. Accepted papers will be assigned either an oral presentation slot or a combined poster/spotlight presentation slot. This assignment will be randomized, and it is not intended to reflect the perceived scientific quality of the paper.
The workshop topics include (but are not limited to):
Agent-Based Modelling and Simulation
Distributed Intelligent Systems
Human-Computer Interaction
Predictive maintenance
Deep learning for process optimization and scheduling
Machine Learning/AI for Intelligent Agents
