During my junior year, I was selected as a candidate for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year (SVOY) Program in the Los Angeles region. I led a team to raise funds for LLS, spending six months developing business skills to prepare for the seven-week campaign. Alongside 26 other teams, we raised $1.8 million to support LLS’s fight against blood cancer.
While a part of SVOY, I founded the Leukemia and Lymphoma Club at my school to give students the opportunity to join SVOY and support LLS. In the club, we focus on fundraising and preparing for the SVOY campaign, with new team captains selected each year to lead the club and the next SVOY team. After the program, I was selected as one of two chair ambassadors. As an ambassador, I now help plan and organize events for new candidates and serve as a mentor throughout the program. It’s been rewarding to see the club grow and to help other students make a difference in the fight against blood cancer.

I’ve been part of the boy's varsity water polo team since I started high school and had the privilege of serving as team captain during both my junior and senior years. Over the years, my team and I have grown a lot, both in skill and as a unit. Early on, we faced some tough seasons, but we stuck together, learned from our mistakes, and kept pushing ourselves to improve. All the hard work paid off when we won our league finals tournament in my senior year and made it to the second round of CIF.
Outside of high school, I also play club water polo and am a member of the swim team, which has helped me push myself even further and improve my strength and endurance in the water. Being involved in both club water polo and the swim team has made me a more well-rounded athlete and has taught me the importance of balancing hard work with teamwork. It’s been incredible to see how far we’ve come as a team, and I’m grateful for the chance to lead and support my teammates along the way.

I joined Key Club as a freshman at John Burroughs, and over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to serve, build character, and develop leadership skills. Through a variety of community service projects such as food and recycling drives, as well as local clean-up events, I’ve honed my teamwork and communication abilities. These experiences have allowed me to connect with others and make a tangible impact in our community. As I move through my senior year, I’m grateful for the growth I’ve experienced and am excited to continue supporting both our club and the community in the future.

I co-founded the Leukemia and Lymphoma Club at my school to raise awareness and support for blood cancer research and treatment. The club’s main focus is to recruit and prepare students for the Student Visionaries of the Year (SVOY) program, where participants lead fundraising campaigns for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Through regular informational meetings, we aim to educate members about the impact of blood cancers and provide guidance on building effective fundraising strategies. It’s been rewarding to see more students get involved and feel confident about contributing to such an important cause. Helping others find their passion for advocacy has strengthened my own commitment to making a difference.
