Abstract Submission - General Guidelines
Submission of abstracts is now invited for presentation at 45th Indian Association of Biomedical Scientists. All abstracts for Oral and Poster Presentation to be sent to abstract.iabms@gmail.com with subject as "Abstract for Oral presentation / Poster presentation".
The oral / poster presentation is open to everyone, including participants from Medical, Dental, Allied Health, Life Sciences, Biomedical and Engineering streams, based on the major themes.
Abstract Guidelines
Abstract for both Oral and Poster presentations should be prepared under the following Headings: Introduction, Methodology, Results, Conclusion and Keywords.
The Title should be in capital and in bold followed by name of authors (with first name first, then middle name followed by family name) and their institutional address along with the email address of the corresponding author. The name of the presenting author should be underlined.
The abstract should be typed using MS Word (Times New Roman, Font Size 12 and 1.5-point spacing between lines and the word limit is 500 words including Keywords).
Abstract Submission
An abstract must be submitted by one of its authors. Presenters must be one of the authors of an abstract. Once the abstract is submitted, no changes will be allowed. The receipt of your abstract will be confirmed by email. Only complete abstracts forms will be considered. Submissions after the closing date will not be considered.
Academic Ethics
Articles submitted should report original and previously unpublished findings. Following ethical conduct is very critical in the academic world. Hence, any act of plagiarism cannot be tolerated. If an author is found to commit an act of plagiarism, the presentation will be automatically dismissed.
Evaluation
The submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee. Applicants will be informed of the outcome at the latest by 30th September 2024.
All notifications will be sent to the email address provided during the abstract submission process. The decisions of the Scientific Committee is final.
Presentation Guidelines
Oral presentations will be for 5 minutes plus 3 minutes for discussion. Poster presentation will be for 5 minutes with 3 minutes for discussion.
Posters will be displayed during the conference. At least one of the authors, preferably the first author, is expected to be in attendance during the poster walk (short pitches and discussion) in which the poster is included and as much as possible during the coffee and lunch breaks.
Registration
All accepted presenters must register before the deadline of the registration. If the presenters have not registered the abstract will not be included in the conference programme and the abstract book.
Cancellation
If your abstract has been accepted but circumstances prevent your attendance, please ask a co-author to present and notify the Conference Secretariat in writing to abstract.iabms@gmail.com about this change as soon as possible. If cancellation is unavoidable, please contact the Conference Secretariat immediately to remove your abstract from the conference programme.

(Maximum 8 slides with minimum 12 font size)

The PPT sides for paper presentation should be mailed to abstract.iabms@gmail.com by 31st October 2024.
Structure of Poster
The recommended poster size is 3 feet by 4 feet (portrait/ vertical layout).
The poster board number assigned to the poster must be placed in the upper left-hand corner of the display. A poster board number cut-out will be provided and must be visible at all times.
The poster should include Registration number (Top left corner), Title (Top Centre) and Conference logo (Top right corner) in the header.
The title of the poster should match the title given in the abstract.
In a scientific poster give clear labels or headings for each section of your presentation like Introduction, Aim/Objectives, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, References etc.
The designated poster presenter (author or coauthor) must be present at the assigned space during the designated time to discuss the work presented.
The font size on the poster should be large enough to ensure readability from a distance.
Dissemination of Abstracts
Accepted abstracts will be bundled in a digital abstract book (in PDF format) and posted on the conference webpage. After the conference, the abstract book will remain available on the 45th Indian Association of Biomedical Scientists website.
Presenters of oral presentations are asked for permission to post a PDF format of the PowerPoint presentation after the conference on the conference website.
